Why Your Wardrobe Needs Earthy Colour Tones

I love that one of the easiest ways to stay on trend is with colour, and the earthy colour trend is definitely one that I am embracing.  It seems like earth tones are always on trend and can be anchor tones for any seasonal wardrobe.  I really like the fact that this trend never goes away.  Earthy tones serve as a palate cleanser among all of the bolder trends seen on the runway, a colour scheme that includes tans, greys, greens, browns, and even some reds like Marsala.

While many of the colours and styles we see on the runways cannot be easily translated into everyday wear, the earthy colour palette certainly can.  It might seem basic, but it’s also fashionable and functional, creating a fresh, natural and understatedly chic look that varies depending on the fabric.

Add texture by mixing and matching pieces with chunky knits, silk and leather. Another great thing about this colour scheme is that it more often than not compliment your skin tone and the colours lend themselves well to a variety of different settings, meaning that you can easily accessorise and it matches with a lot of the clothes you already have.

You can mix it up with other earth tones or neutrals to keep the simplicity of the style or mix it up with some gold accents to become more elegant.

If you still don't know or have no idea on how to wear earthy colours, don't worry you are in the right place.  I have earth tone outfits for your inspiration, to help you look amazing on the streets.

How to Wear Pale Neutrals

Nothing beats the winter blues with some winter pastels.  Subtle shades make a splash when worn just the right way, most women already love wearing neutrals and they have become a staple in almost every wardrobe because they are trendless.

This timeless and classic colour scheme is far from boring (cream, white, vanilla, camel, beige) and they are fast becoming the essential hues of the season.  Neutrals like Camel are an easy way to inject some upscale glamour into your day-to-day style.

Team with jeans - when I say neutrals I don’t necessarily mean all over. Where your favourite pair of jeans with everything else being a neutral tone.

Winter white jeans - If you put your white jeans in your Summer storage, dig them out again and wear them with a chunky cream knit and tan accessories.  An all-white outfit is an easy way to make a statement—the monochromatic neutral look is always eye-catching

The camel coat - It’s one of our essential Winter staples and it completes a neutral outfit like no other! If lighter tones scare you like white and cream – go for camel, caramel, or little coffee colours.

Greys  - We’re not just talking a brown colour scale, light greys are gorgeous in this type of look too.   You can pair heather grey with charcoal and it’s almost like you’re wearing two different colours.  To pull off this look, try balancing out the different tones by using a wide range of greys in a single outfit.

Neutral nails are in and they’re the perfect way to make your nails look pretty without being overdone.
